Nuestra Senora
de la Leche
Our Lady of the Milk celebrates the oldest Marian shrine in North America. Established by Spanish explorers in the 15th century in St. Augustine, Florida, our Lady is depicted as a queen upon a throne nursing her baby. Special features of Cuchama's creation include a faceted garnet pendant adorning the queen and the heavy pewter frame common to the series. The feast day of the Queen of Heaven is August 22.
